CrossFit 757 is located in the Ghent area of Norfolk, Virginia. We were the first operating CrossFit affiliate gym in Norfolk, Virginia. After over six years, we remain the only CrossFit in Ghent. We are dedicated solely to CrossFit and the advancement of our athletes through the CrossFit methodology. While assisting all of our athletes in achieving their personal goals, we also seek to build a strong family within the gym and contribute to the community of other CrossFit facilities in the area. All fitness levels are welcome with open arms and open minds to participate in our CrossFit workouts and training.
CrossFit 757 was first conceived by two friends who had the mutual dream of owning their own CrossFit facility which would exemplify both fitness and community. The dream has been realized because a select group shared our passionate dedication to CrossFit, and more importantly, a dedication to helping others. CrossFit has changed thousands of lives for the better by forging elite athletes through its training methods. Our stories are not unlike those who came before us. CrossFit has changed our lives for the better and will positively change yours as well.
…is to safely pass on the proven training techniques to as many people as we can, so that you too can realize your personal fitness goals. While on this path to your goals, you will realize that we are all here to help you. Whether it is to become a better athlete or just to become a more functional person, the trainers at CF 757 will be there to assist. Sometimes it will be to help you by correcting your form, which will make your movements more efficient. Other times it will be that little yell of encouragement to help you push through and finish the workout. However our encouragement comes out, you will know that we are here for you and want you to succeed just as much as you do. In essence, we are here to make you…
CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program designed to elicit as broad an adaptational response as possible. It is not a specialized fitness program, but a deliberate attempt to optimize physical competence in all ten areas of fitness:
In a word: yes. CrossFit is for anyone. Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. This kind of fitness compliments a wide range of physical activities including sport, combat, survival, and simply negotiating life here on Earth. Our specialty is not specializing. We punish the specialist.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We work with each of our members to scale weight and intensity appropriate to their individual abilities.
Greg Glassman, the founder of CrossFit, sums it up in 100 words: “Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, clean & jerk, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.”
